Týr

is the god of law & justice, rational thought, protection, strength and courage; he is the ancient god of war and the lawgiver of the gods.

These are ways I personally honor

Týr

and my personal associations with offerings. If you have something negative to say keep it to yourself, these are personal and work for me. (Yes, I know that’s Kratos, yes I like this gif for

Týr).

  • Always seek to better yourself.
  • Offer him praise and offerings on Tuesday.
  • Light incense or candles of holly, juniper, pine, penny royal, bay, oak, dragon’s blood, or patchouli. 
  • Learn about the indigenous people of your country and what you can do to support them.  
  • Always try to challenge your strength either at the gym or whatever work outs you can do.
  • Plant blackthorn, juniper, oak, thistle,or vervain in your garden.
  • Educate yourself on people who have been wrongfully incarcerated and what you can do to help.
  • Play God of War(no but really).
  • Take care of your body, stay hydrated and eat well.
  • Decorate your home or altar in the colors orange, yellow, gold, or red.  
  • Challenge yourself in any way you can.
  • Use the runes Tiwaz(his rune), Ehwaz, Ingwaz, Jera, and Thurisaz in your practice or atlar.
  • Learn a form of self defense or weaponry.
  • Stand up for what is right for the people and the oppressed, not just what is best for you.
  • Use the crystals smokey quartz, tigers eye, red jasper, steel, gray agate, or hematite in your altar or practice.
  • Vote; locally, state, all across the board. Do your best to have a voice in the justice system!
  • Drink earthy teas like mugwort, pine, dandelion, and yarrow.
  • If you get summoned for jury duty don’t try to wiggle your way out of it(unless it’s necessary).
  • Decorate your home in (images of)swords, wolves, fire, steel, anything hand crafted.
  • Know where your local police and fire stations are.
