📖Saga Devotional Tips📖

Saga is the Norse god of history and storytelling, a librarian of the gods. She is a handmaiden to Frigg and runs the Hall Sökkvabekk. She is a wonderful deity to reach out to for storytelling, research, and writing history, learning the tales of your ancestors, or learning more about mythology. Like Lofn and Sjöfn some historians believe Sagas was one of Frigg’s many names, These are my personal devotional tips for Saga and are not based on historical facts.

  • Dedicate time researching to her!
  • Keep a journal or grimoire on your altar.
  • Find time to read a little bit each day even if it’s only for fifteen minutes.
  • Use crystals like mystic merlinite, blue apatite, petrified wood, charoite or azurite in your practice or altar.
  • Bear, cat, or bird teeth/claws/bones are a good addition as well! Do research on legality in your state for owning them own!
  • Tell her stories of your life, learned lessons, or something funny that happened as an offering to her. She loves stories!
  • Keep one of your favorite books on your altar.
  • Leave offerings of dried meat, porridge, bread, nuts, mead, or aster.
  • Write a short story for her.
  • Encourage local preforming artists by attending plays, festivals, etc.
  • Burn incense or candles of juniper, parchment, myrrh, mugwort, or spruce.
  • Use the runes Mannaz, Ehwaz, Ansuz, and Othala in your practice or altar.
  • Research and learn the Elder Futhark.
  • Keep a goblet on your altar. The stories say she and Grímnir would drink daily.
  • Donate books to the local library, hospital, school, or retirement homes.
  • Decorate your home or altar in blues, gold, and white.
  • Include owls in your life either via jewelry, clothing, maybe a statue on your altar, phone background, be creative!
