📚Intro To Polytheism📚

One of the most frequent asks I receive is how and where to get started when it comes to polytheism. This is a fairly broad subject and I’ll try to be as general as I can for advice but I will include specific references for Norse polytheists as that’s my shit. This information can be … Continue reading 📚Intro To Polytheism📚

Hey Faye! I’m really new to the Norse Pantheon, and I was wondering if there was any goddess/god in particular that is associated with the sun and daylight? Since I want to focus on more sun magic, I thought it’d be a nice way to reach out to someone, and see if they reciprocate 😊 Thank you, sweetie!

Sól is the Norse personification of the sun and she’s a lovely deity to work with in my opinion! 💛 Freyr and Baldur are often associated with sunlight as well. I’m sorry I’m on mobile so I can’t link it but if you search their names individually on my blog you should find devotional posts … Continue reading Hey Faye! I’m super new to this path and I’m still unsure about a lot of things. Since I was raised Christian, I struggle with guilt/shame when it comes to talking about my gods (I love my gods but I am always afraid someone will think it’s dumb that I believe in Old Gods) and I find it difficult to talk to multiple gods when I used to only talk to one god, so conversing freely with many gods is a bit of an obstacle for me. Do you have any advice? (Sorry for the long ask.)

Hello dear! I think that’s a problem a lot of us converters face so you’re not alone in your struggle. 💚 You don’t have to talk to multiple gods at the same time, they can each have their own conversations. And you don’t need to have start off with multiple gods either! You can believe … Continue reading I’m super new to this path and I’m still unsure about a lot of things. I read somewhere that it‘s important to not (never) take offerings (non-food) from an altar and to apologise with a new offering in case something breaks. But what if someone who still isn’t sure which deities they will focus on sets up an altar? People and life change… wouldn’t the gods understand that? I mean, yes, don’t throw something away without saying anything to the god it was for. But maybe place it off the altar after an explanation should work…? I don’t wanna piss off a god in future

They lied to you. I don’t know who man but they sure as fuck lied to you. I’ve definitely eaten every food offering I’ve laid out for the gods, I’m constantly switching what crystals and runes are on it because I would like to use my witchy instruments?? Keep that shit on until you’re like … Continue reading I read somewhere that it‘s important to not (never) take offerings (non-food) from an altar and to apologise with a new offering in case something breaks. themodernsouthernpolytheist: slavicafire: witches-ofcolor: allthingswittyandneko: Tumblr: CULTURAL APPROPRIATION IS WRONG! Also Tumblr: Black Norse gods are beautiful and diverse. History and culture don’t matter. Okay but the Norse pantheon is open to like everyone, black culture is not. That’s the difference OP. And because the Norse pantheon is open, those who worship the gods are free … Continue reading

Hi! I gave my very first offering to my gods today – would extra prayer tonight be a good idea to strengthen my bond to them?

Sure! Don’t feel bad if you can’t though, deities(from my experience) will take prayers and thanks at almost any time. For instance I usually say my prayers to Thor when I do the dishes, to Frigg whenever I cook, just do it when you have the time and feel the love for them.🌙
